This is primarily a motorcycle trip blog, documenting our various long-distance rides. The domain name ‘fecktheitinerary.com’ was created to honour a small group of biking friends, all of whom have ridden the annual Mother Road Ride Rally (Route 66) at least once. In June 2009, when we finished the Rally in Santa Monica, this group travelled north to Alaska in search of adventure. Our ride was marred with breakdowns and accidents and, consequently, the experience turned out quite differently to the once-in-a-lifetime trip we had all anticipated. But it wasn’t all bad by any means. We simply threw the overly-prescriptive itinerary out of the window and did our own thing.
