Feck the Itinerary

Motorcycle adventures and other stuff …

About us

November 7th, 2009

This is primarily a motorcycle trip blog, documenting our various long-distance rides. The domain name ‘fecktheitinerary.com’ was created to honour a small group of biking friends, all of whom have ridden the annual Mother Road Ride Rally (Route 66) at least once.  In June 2009, when we finished the Rally in Santa Monica, this group travelled north to Alaska in search of adventure.  Our ride was marred with breakdowns and accidents and, consequently, the experience turned out quite differently to the once-in-a-lifetime trip we had all anticipated. But it wasn’t all bad by any means. We simply threw the overly-prescriptive itinerary out of the window and did our own thing.

A lot of water has passed under the bridge since 2009.  Rather than let the domain/blog lapse, it seemed appropriate to add to it. Here you will find a report of our 2011 Moscow to Moscow charity ride in aid of The Poppa Guttmann Trust at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville, as well as links to www.offonaweeride.com (the official site for that ride) and earlier trips.

I’ve limited comments to the original group but, if you want to contact me please feel free to email brigid@fecktheitinerary.com.
