  1. Ahh, the wild and wierd side of Mrs. Roynie! Very funny, LOL!

How was the motorbike show and your “attempt” at getting drunk?

  2. The bike show was great fun. Our attempt at getting drunk was unfortunately curtailed by the pub manager who decided to shut up shop on the dot of 11pm – despite having a 1am licence and bar full of hotel guests. The odious little twerp apparently thought Willie was about to deck him, as he scuttled off to the safety of a back room, only to creep back when he saw we had gone. It was annoying at the time, but actually quite funny the following morning, as the same manager was on duty in the restaurant at breakfast and studiously avoided making eye-contact with us – trouble-makers that we are …!

The end result was that John and I went to bed (relatively) sober, while Willie and Jim got a taxi back to their hotel and had a few more jars.

  3. I think the bartender is a friend of George. Did he serve breakfast at 5 a.m.?

  4. LOL. I forgot the best bit. I don’t know whether Willie or Jim noticed the name of the pub. Would you believe it was called the “George in the Tree”?! How apt.
